New York — DRL §236(B)(5-a)

NY uses a mandatory formula: 30% of payor income minus 20% of payee income, capped so the payee doesn't exceed 40% of combined income. One of the few states with a true statutory guideline.

Illinois — 750 ILCS 5/504

Illinois applies a net-income formula with a statutory duration table. Courts must explain in writing any deviation — making IL one of the most formula-driven states in the country.
